Universal Pre-Kindergarten Full Day Lottery

The City School District of New Rochelle, in partnership with Westchester Community Opportunity Program (WestCOP) at 95 Lincoln Ave, is offering current New Rochelle residents free, full-day pre-kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. All current New Rochelle residents with children who were born in 2018 are eligible to apply for a seat in our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program, including children already seated in a half-day pre-kindergarten program. The full-day pre-kindergarten lottery begins July 7, 2022. Families will have until July 22, 2022, to enter the lottery.
Why Pre-Kindergarten?
Pre-kindergarten immerses students in a learning-focused community that nurtures individual growth and provides a strong foundation for lifelong education. Children in quality early childhood programs learn socialization skills through group activities, experience reading- and writing-readiness activities, are better prepared for school success, and are more likely to attain higher levels of education.
Pre-kindergarten requires attendance in person; a virtual option is not available. The pre-kindergarten calendar generally follows the City School District of New Rochelle calendar. The program at WestCOP runs Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 1:30PM. Families have the option of adding early drop off beginning at 7:30AM and an extended day from 1:30-3:30 for a cost. Please reach out to WestCOP for availability and cost.
How to Apply
A Pre-kindergarten Application form must be submitted for each applicant in your family. All information provided will be held in strict confidence.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Please submit prior to July 22, 2022, 4:30 P.M. After this deadline, please email CSDNRPreK@nredlearn.org or call 914-576-4622 to be placed on a waitlist, which will be considered after all lottery entries are placed.

July 22, 2022: Final day to enter pre-kindergarten lottery
August 1, 2022: Pre-kindergarten placements occur and notifications to families begin
August 8, 2022: Pre-kindergarten seat-acceptance deadline
