Fifty Davis Elementary School families joined in their shared love of reading at the Davis Book Fair Family Night on Oct. 6.
Students perused the shelves set up in the gymnasium to find good reads. The most popular selections included “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” “I Survived,” “Dogman,” and “The Bad Seed” series.
“Kids love coming in to see all the books. They really enjoy the independence of shopping ‘by themselves’ with some help from our volunteers and teachers,” said PTA Co-President Susan Korzon. “We give a big shout-out to our Davis teachers, Ms. Curry, Ms. Moses, and Ms. Cayanan, along with Principal Anthony Bambrola, for volunteering to read stories to the kids at Family Night.”
In addition to hosting the event, the PTA used “Scholastic Dollars” earned from the fair to purchase brand-new books for classroom libraries throughout the school.
