It’s been an exciting month at Huguenot Academy! Take a look at what our students have been up to over the past few weeks:
Ninth-grade students in Megan Grahofke’s Global 1 class are learning about the Renaissance. Students got to tour the Sistine Chapel virtually, then tried their hand at drawing like Michelangelo – lying down!
Charles Curtis, the Director of Community Engagement from the City of New Rochelle, visited and worked with students to connect them with volunteer opportunities to start building their resumes. He will return over the next two weeks to help them create resumes, which they will use at the upcoming job fair on March 25 at the high school and in the community to find employment. Curtis met with all students, sharing information about volunteer opportunities during every lunch period. He also helped interested students create a profile online that allows them access to all the volunteer opportunities in their community.
Our guidance intern, John Hyman-Martin, meets with students to work on college and career exploration, and runs a group for students. Our seniors continue to receive acceptances to colleges, and their excitement is palpable. Hyman-Martin is a student at Hunter College, where he is in a school counseling program.
